ICL stars we miss in IPL cricket tournament

Indian premier League (IPL) cricket will provide non-stop entertainment for cricket and Bollywood lovers over 44 days in 8 Indian cities. Cricket stars from India, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in live action in this Day& Night 20-20 cricket that will be played among eight city franchisees. Still, we miss some superb cricket stars in action in IPL as they are playing for rival cricket league.

Cricket stars missing in action in IPL:

1. Chris Cairns: He always played superb innings against India. We miss this big hitting all-rounder.

2. Shane Bond: Best fast bowler in the world after Dale Steyn.

3. Justin Kemp: Lance Klusener of new generation. He plays like Dhoni.

4. Lance Klusener: Who will forget his exploits in 1999 England world cup.

5. Brian Lara: Favourite batsman of Sachin Tendulkar.

6. Ambati Rayudu: Indian cricket missed this Hyderabad cricketer who can play match winning innings.

7. Abdul Razaaq: Suitable all-rounder for 20-20 cricket tournament.

8. Injamam-Ul-Haq: Batting giant from Pakistan needs no explanation.

10. Ian Harvey: Best player in the last edition of Indian Cricket League.

11. Craig McMillan: Big hitting useful all-rounder.

12. Nathan Astle: He scored fastest double century in International cricket.

These players are not playing in IPL as they were banned by ICC due to their association with ICL. We missed stars like Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, and Michael Clarke etc due to different reasons.

1. IPL 2009: According to rumours, 2009 Indian Premier League will be held from April 10 to May 29. IPL 2008 will start on April 18 in Bangalore. Format will not change in both editions.

2. England Cricket board ruled out the availability of contracted players for 2009 IPL auction. Players seem to be unhappy over ECB’s decision.

3. ICC may change tour programme to include lucrative IPL Twenty20 tournament.

4. England cricket star Kevin Pietersen has openly expressed his desire to play in IPL.
