  Kolkata Knightriders will take on Deccan Chargers at Eden Gardens on Monday. Both teams lost their first games against Chennai and Rajasthan respectively. Kolkata lost to Chennai due to poor captaincy by Gautam Gambhir while DD lost against weak Rajasthan due to lack of balance in the team.  Match venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata.  Match timing: at 8 PM on April 11.   Ratings for Teams & Captains:     KKR: Team - 8/10 & Captain - 7/10.  DC: Team - 7/10 & Captain - 8/10   Major battles:   1. KKR Batting Vs DC bowling.  2. Dale Steyn Vs Jacques Kallis.  Best strategy: Batting second on Eden Gardens is not easy especially for KKR as DC has 2 good spinners - Pragyan Ojha & Amit Mishra & Steyn.   Analysis of KKR & DD:    Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):   KKR lost first game to Chennai due to lack of passion and uninspirational captaincy by Gautam Gambhir.   Depleted Rajasthan Royals will take on Deccan Chargers at Uppal stadium in Hyderabad. Hyderabad has poor record at home ground while Rajasthan is struggling due to financial problems. Both teams are looking strong in bowling department. Both IPL squads have very good leaders - Shane Warne and Kumara Sangakakra. Unavailability of Shane Watson (best all-rounder in IPL) is a big blow to Rajasthan Royals.    Match time: 4 PM on April 9  Stadium: Uppal stadium in Secunderabad.  Hyderabad Deccan Chargers:    Deccan Chargers management always struggled to pick up right players during the auction. They spend too much on 2-3 foreign stars and forget about Indian players. They are once again fielding an average team in IPL. But, it has 2-3 stars who can singlehandedly win the games. IPL 2010 Semi-finalists

 Introduction: This year in the Indian Premier League the points table has been different from other years because 7 teams were in contention with only a few matches to go to make the semi finals and only 1 team were not winning too many games. Mumbai was the inform team during this IPL with them having more points than the other teams by a long shot. Deccan had a close finish and somehow found them self at 2nd place at the end of the matches before the finals. Chennai had a close game against the bottom team Punjab to make the finals with some impressive batting. Bangalore played well but during some games they fell apart in there middle order but luckily they won enough games to have a place in the finals.  Mumbai Indians: Mumbai were defiantly going to be in first place before the finals as they were leading by a few more points than all the other teams. Mumbai were favourites for this tournament as they had a good auction picking up a highly respected cricketer in the T20 format called Kieron Pollard. There star recruit didn’t show too many of his skills with the bat but later he started getting starts that started entertaining the crowd. They had the talent of course to get them through with Sachin Tendulkar scoring 561 runs also top scoring for the whole IPL. Surprisingly Mumbai’s only batsman in the top 10 highest run scorers before the finals was Tendulkar but Saurabh Tiwary was in 10th place with 367 runs. IPL Preview: Kolkata Vs King XI Punjab

 Author: Mona Gupta (New Delhi) Back to winning ways courtesy an inspiring innings from Ganguly in their last match against title-holders Deccan Chargers, Kolkata Knight Riders suddenly find themselves in reckoning for a last-four berth as their 24-run victory improved their position to fifth on the table. Kolkata Knight Riders will be high on confidence when they take on a battered and bruised Kings XI Punjab in their return match of the Indian Premier League match in Kolkata on Sunday. Venue and Conditions: The troubled Kings XI Punjab will visit the cricketing Mecca of Eden Gardens to take on Sourav Ganguly's Kolkata Knight Riders in match 34 of the IPL. Punjab are in disarray after losing a game they should have won to Bangalore last time out and they are now four points adrift at the bottom of the table. Kolkata are in fifth and need to win to maintain their challenge for the semis. The pitches at Eden Gardens tend to get slower as the game progresses so batting first tends to be the preferred choice for the captain that wins the toss. Any score over 160 here is a potentially defendable total. The Kolkata: Kolkata will have been delighted with their last performance against Deccan and may field virtually the same team. IPL Games: Chennai Vs Bangalore

 Chennai Super Kings will face Bangalore’s Royal Challengers on the 31st of March at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Chennai Super Kings have not played to their potential in most of the matches of the IPL and sadly their captain MS Dhoni was out of the game for a few matches due to injury and even after his return the team has not shown any blistering performance. The last game they played was against Rajasthan Royals and Shane Warne’s team booked their fourth consecutive win against the Chennai Super Kings. And out of the seven matches Chennai Super Kings have managed to win only a couple of them as their semi-final hopes have slumped alarmingly. Venue and conditions: In all IPL matches played at the Chidambaram stadium the average first-innings score is a healthy 168. The lowest total recorded was King's XI's 136 this season which Chennai lost in the Super Over despite needing one from the last two balls when chasing. The Hosts: Chennai Super Kings need to win the upcoming match to turn things around in their favour though it will be a tough task but not an impossible one definitely, as the team has solid players and each one has to do a meaningful contribution in all departments to make a difference. Just two wins from seven matches leaves the Super Kings with an uphill struggle to reach the semi finals. If you include the Super Over defeat to Kings XI, they go into this game on the back of four consecutive defeats. Suresh Raina introduces the Indian version of ‘Mongoose’

 By: Meenal Johari (Agra) With Mathew Hayden bringing in all the storm with the ferocious ‘Mongoose’ in his hands during the third season of the Indian Premier League, his Chennai team mate Suresh Raina is no behind and has endorsed the Indian version of it. The Indian sports equipment manufacturer Sanspareil Greenlands (SG) is in the process of introducing the bat, specifically made for the Twenty20 format of cricket, in the Indian market next month before the commencement of the forthcoming T20 World Cup. The bat, which is still waiting to get named, has already been put to use in the IPL match by Raina against the Mumbai Indians on March 25. The Head of SG, Paras Anand explained that unlike the Mongoose, this Indian variety takes the looks of a conventional cricket bat but is bound to be almost ten percent heavier owing to its thicker blades with around 25 percent extra wood which will allow the batsmen to hit powerful shots. He further said that the extra weight should not be matter of concern to the batsmen due to the short duration of the Twenty20 format. Suresh Raina, the man who initiated the use of the bat in the IPL, believes that “this bat can be used successfully on Australian pitches as well as on the sub-continental pitches.” He added that, “We have a number of quality pitches in India where ball comes to the bat nicely.
