They spent big money to buy awesome players like Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist, Shahid Afridi and Gibbs. Hyderabad team is the strong favourite to win the first Indian Premier League tournament which will be held in April-May, 2008. Hyderabad team has 4 members who played in the finals of the first 20-20 ICC Cricket world cup held in South Africa.

How could they spend above the limit of $50 lakhs, ie, Rs.20 crores?
Mathew Hayden and Michael Hussey are not playing in the first edition. So their amount is not under consideration. Still it leaves some doubts over IPL rules.
Deccan Chargers looks good only on paper. A weak administrator and captain in Laxman doesn't do any good and there aren't young legs. Of course,the likes of symonds, gilly, afridi, gibbs may help, but they don't play the law of averages well and they lack a quality bowler.
Laxman has the capability of taking 20-20 format to Test match level.
YES,HYD MIGHT BE A STRONGER ONE BUT THERE IS NO USE OF A stronger team if there is no suitable captain to lead them and useless opening should be changed.why is there no HERSHELLE GIBBS opening with gilchrist.we should just hope that this team will win with KINGS11 PUNJAB
I think VVS Laxman does not know that Gilchrist and Afridi can be most destructive opening pair in the world. Yet he sends Afridi 4 or 5 down in the Order. Hope he will set this right from today onwards.
